The Major PR Problem in this case study is that there are two parties that are not content with the choices and regulations placed on the logging industry, and the hopes to safe our wildlife. Throughout the past 300 years of the United States history, over 200 species have become extinct. As many see it, the logging industry is doing more harm than good. Many animals are becoming extinct very rapidly, and more are being added to the endangered list. The Logging industry consists of obtaining lumber from the old-growth forests in various parts of the United States including Washington, Oregon, and Northern California. For the Animal activists, they feel that the animals should have a healthy habitat to live in, as they have been, and something should be done to preserve their homeland. There are many major issues driving this case. For starters, there are too many endangered animals becoming extinct, and something must be done to keep it from progressing. From either publics standpoint, there is no way to keep both parties content. As you can see, there are many problems that go along with regulating this type of situation. To start, the Logging industry is huge. It is a Billion Dollar industry that employs many people and many small towns depend on the income.
